NHSN Automated Reporting Tool Available in Venato

Venato, a secure cloud-based occ health management solution for healthcare organizations, announced that their flagship software solution now provides a nearly automated mechanism, enabling HCP influenza vaccination information to be uploaded to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) by simply copy/pasting NHSN HCP automated calculations.

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) require that hospitals submit healthcare personnel (HCP) influenza vaccination summary data into NHSN no later than May 15 for each influenza season in order for the data to be shared with CMS. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services require reporting on three categories of HCP including employees (regardless of patient contact), licensed independent practitioners, and adult students/trainees and volunteers.

“Venato automates the way healthcare organizations track occ health records, including influenza vaccinations for healthcare personnel,” said Billy McCafferty, CEO of Venato. “Now, it streamlines the way these organizations report to the NHSN, eliminating tedious and time consuming calculations, and the potential for human error.”

The tracking and reporting of HCP influenza vaccination status assists healthcare facilities in identifying unvaccinated HCP in an effort to reduce morbidity rates associated with influenza virus infection among patients. Public reporting of the data from acute care hospitals began with the 2013-2014 influenza season.
